Choose grey decking paint by the timber, previous treatment, desired colour and approved product use. Compare the actual listed shades rather than assuming a colour name or anti-slip label establishes suitability.
Compare the listed grey shades
The current Extreme Anti-Slip Decking Paint options include Light Grey, Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Use those actual option names when ordering. “Slate Grey” is not a listed option on this product, and another brand’s grey name is not a colour match.
View colour in your garden
Consider the surrounding paving, furniture and timber, then assess a small prepared sample as directed. Screens, photographs and lighting affect how colours appear. Do not promise that grey hides every mark, adds property value or is the most popular current colour.
Match the surface
The product is intended for prepared timber decking and is not suitable for composite decking. Confirm compatibility with existing paint, oil, stain or preservative before coating. A colour change does not remove the need for preparation.
Finish and grip
The current product describes a satin finish with a separate silica additive. Follow its mixing and application instructions. Texture adds grip but does not make decking slip-proof when wet, icy or contaminated; keep algae, oil and other contamination under control.
Plan the application
Prepare the timber and use the required coat count and coverage. For the listed decking paint, 5 litres covers approximately 30–40 m² per coat, or 15–20 m² with two coats. Apply mixed grit paint by brush or roller; do not spray it. Read the decking application guide and confirm current curing requirements before use.
