Industrial floor paint for garages, workshops, warehouses, factories & concrete floors

Extreme Paints Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Floor Paint is a professional-grade industrial floor coating designed for concrete floors in garages, workshops, warehouses, factories and other high-traffic commercial areas. Manufactured in the UK, this solvent-based polyurethane (PU) floor paint provides excellent abrasion resistance, chemical protection and a tough, professional finish. Available in multiple colours and sizes, with smooth or anti-slip options.

Heavy-Duty Floor Paint for Concrete, Garages & Industrial Floors

Unlike standard floor paints, this heavy-duty polyurethane formula is engineered to handle constant forklift traffic, chemical spillages, oils, and industrial wear and tear, making it one of the most reliable solutions for concrete and timber substrates. Available in various colours, it combines aesthetic appeal with robust protection, ensuring your floor remains safe, easy to clean, and cost-effective for years.

Why Choose Extreme Paints Polyurethane Floor Paint?

  • Heavy-duty durability – designed for garages, workshops, warehouses, factories and other high-traffic floors.
  • Excellent abrasion resistance – suitable for regular foot traffic, vehicles, machinery and forklift use.
  • Chemical and oil resistance – helps protect floors from oils, fuels and everyday industrial spillages.
  • Smooth or anti-slip finish – choose the finish that best suits the area.
  • Multiple colours and sizes – available in a range of options for domestic, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Suitable for concrete floors – ideal for properly prepared concrete and other compatible floor surfaces.
  • UK manufactured – professional-grade polyurethane coating made for demanding environments.

For maximum adhesion on bare or porous concrete, apply Extreme Paints Clear Polyurethane Primer & Sealer before painting. This ensures deep penetration, surface stability, and a longer service life.

Where Can This Floor Paint Be Used?

This floor paint is versatile and adheres to a wide range of properly prepared surfaces, making it suitable for:

  • Concrete Floors: Ideal for properly prepared bare, sealed or mechanically ground concrete floors in garages, workshops, warehouses, factories and commercial units.

  • Metal Surfaces: Suitable for properly prepared and correctly primed metal surfaces where a tough, hard-wearing polyurethane coating is required.

  • Timber Floors: Suitable for properly prepared wooden floors in workshops, storage areas and other hard-wearing commercial environments where a durable polyurethane finish is required.

  • Porous Masonry: Suitable for properly prepared porous masonry surfaces where a tough, durable polyurethane coating is required. For highly porous surfaces, use the recommended primer first to help improve adhesion and achieve a more even finish.

Note: Avoid applying to self-leveling screeds unless tested first, as most are non-porous and unsuitable for solvent-based coatings.

Floor Paint Coverage & Spread Rate

Coverage will vary depending on the porosity, texture and condition of the floor, but as a general guide Extreme Paints Polyurethane Floor Paint will cover approximately 5–7 m² per litre per coat on a properly prepared surface.

  • 5–7 m² per litre, depending on surface porosity

  • 5 L tin covers approx. 30 m²

  • 20 L tin covers approx. 120 m²

Applying two thin coats at right angles ensures a uniform finish, greater adhesion, and long-term durability.

Floor Paint Drying & Curing Times

At approximately 18°C, Extreme Paints Polyurethane Floor Paint dries quickly enough to minimise downtime in garages, workshops, warehouses and industrial environments. Allow the coating to cure fully before exposing it to heavy traffic, vehicles or chemicals.

  • Touch Dry: 6–8 hours

  • Recoat Window: 6–8 hours

  • Light Foot Traffic: 24 hours

  • Forklift / Vehicle Use: 72 hours

  • Full Chemical Resistance / Cure: 7 days

This curing schedule ensures floors are back in service quickly without compromising hardness or protective qualities.

Storage & Thinning Instructions

Store and prepare Extreme Paints Polyurethane Floor Paint correctly to maintain product performance and achieve the best application results.

  • Store between 5 °C and 30 °C in sealed containers.

  • For spray application, thin with white spirit or PU thinner (≤ 5%).

  • Always order the required batch in one purchase to ensure colour consistency across the floor.

Upgrade your garage, workshop, warehouse or factory floor with Extreme Paints Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Floor Paint. Available in multiple colours, pack sizes and smooth or anti-slip finishes, it provides a tough, chemical-resistant coating for demanding concrete and industrial floors. How to Apply Polyurethane Floor Paint

For the best adhesion, durability and finish, prepare the floor thoroughly and apply Extreme Paints Polyurethane Floor Paint using the steps below.

1. Surface Preparation

  • Remove all loose paint, grease, dust, or contamination.
  • Ensure the substrate is dry with < 4% moisture content.
  • Power-floated concrete should be mechanically ground to open the surface.
  • Avoid painting over damp or uncured screeds.

2. Priming

  • Apply Extreme Paints Clear Polyurethane Primer & Sealer to bare, porous, or ground concrete.
  • This step ensures maximum adhesion, deeper penetration, and reduced porosity.

3. Mixing

  • Stir thoroughly for at least 3 minutes using a paddle mixer.
  • For the anti-slip variant, ensure silica grit is evenly dispersed.

4. Application Method

  • Apply using a brush or roller for both gloss and anti-slip finishes.
  • Airless or HVLP spray may only be used for smooth gloss (the anti-slip variant is not sprayable).
  • Apply two thin coats at right angles for full coverage.
  • Avoid thick coats or puddling.

5. Curing & Drying

  • Recoat time: 6–8 hours.
  • Light foot traffic: 24 hours.
  • Forklift/vehicle traffic: 72 hours.
  • Complete chemical resistance: 7 days at 18 °C.

Following these instructions ensures the coating develops its full strength, chemical resistance, and long-term performance.
