Manufactured in the UK
Extreme Anti-Slip Driveway Paint is a 2 part, hard-wearing, water-based acrylic coating developed to bring lasting grip and colour to driveways, parking areas, garage aprons and vehicle access routes. Built for the British climate, it forms a tough textured film that holds its footing when surfaces are wet, mossy or frosted, while giving tired concrete and paving a clean, freshly-finished look.
Fine silica grit aggregates are blended into the coating to create an even, consistent surface profile underfoot and under tyre. The result is dependable traction on damp or shaded driveways without a harshly abrasive texture — comfortable enough for everyday domestic use, tough enough for busy commercial forecourts. Because the formula is water-based and low in odour, it can be used around homes, schools, care homes and public buildings with very little disruption.
The flexible acrylic film moves with the substrate, which helps resist the hairline cracking that often appears on concrete driveways through freeze-thaw cycles. Breathable film technology lets trapped moisture escape from the surface below, reducing the blistering and peeling that can affect less forgiving coatings. UV-stable pigments hold their colour through long summer exposure, so driveways stay looking sharp season after season rather than washing out to a patchy grey.
Formulated and manufactured in the UK, this coating is a practical choice for homeowners refreshing a weathered drive, landscapers finishing a new installation, and facilities teams upgrading safety across site access routes. Quick drying times mean driveways can be returned to light foot use the same day, keeping downtime to a minimum on occupied sites.
Suitable Surfaces
-
Concrete driveways, hardstandings and poured vehicle areas
-
Paving slabs, flagstones and pre-cast concrete pavers
-
Brick, block paving and masonry driveways
-
Rendered and screeded drive surfaces
-
Garage floors, aprons, ramps and sloped access routes
-
Previously painted driveways in sound, stable condition
-
Interior and exterior vehicle and pedestrian areas
Note: Not recommended for self-levelling screeds, natural stone with heavily protruding aggregate, or polished surfaces without mechanical preparation first. Timber and metal sections benefit from a compatible primer before coating. Always trial a small, out-of-the-way area first — substrate porosity, surface condition and existing coatings all affect adhesion and final appearance.
Coverage & Spread Rate
-
6–8 m² per litre per coat, depending on porosity and surface texture
-
5 L tin covers roughly 15–20 m² with two coats
-
10 L tin covers roughly 30–40 m² with two coats
-
20 L tin covers up to 65 m² with two coats
-
1000 L IBC covers up to 3,250 m² with two coats — suited to estates, car parks and large commercial contracts
Rough, worn or highly porous driveways will draw in more product. Avoid heavy over-application, as this can affect texture consistency and slow drying.
Drying & Curing Times (@ 18 °C)
-
Touch dry: 1–2 hours
-
Recoat: 2–4 hours
-
Light foot traffic: 12 hours
-
Normal pedestrian use: 24–48 hours
-
Light vehicle traffic: 72 hours
-
Full cure and weather resistance: 7 days
Cold, damp or humid conditions will extend these times. Do not apply outdoors if rain is forecast within 2 hours. Avoid sharp steering or turning the wheel on the spot during the first week of cure.
Storage & Clean-Up
-
Store sealed containers between 5–30 °C, dry and frost-free
-
Supplied ready to use — thin only for spray application (max 5% clean water)
-
Over-thinning reduces film build and weakens slip resistance
-
Reseal firmly between uses to prevent skinning
-
For 1000 L IBC orders, keep the tank level and agitate thoroughly before dispensing so pigment and aggregate stay evenly distributed
-
Wash tools with clean water straight after use
-
Dispose of waste in line with local regulations
Finish & Appearance
Dries to a durable textured satin finish that maximises grip while keeping a neat, even appearance across the full drive. The anti-slip profile is distributed consistently so there are no smooth patches or heavy build-up at edges. Higher-contrast colours work well for marking parking bays, drive edges, ramps and changes in level where visibility supports safety.
Safety Notice
A water-based coating with low hazard during application. Wear gloves and eye protection, and ventilate well when working indoors. Avoid eye contact and prolonged skin exposure. Keep children and pets away until fully cured. Not for ingestion. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full guidance.
Additional Notes
Supplied in 5 L, 10 L and 20 L tins plus 1000 L IBC tanks, covering everything from a single domestic drive to full-site safety upgrades. For consistent colour across large areas, order all material from one batch. During busy periods product may arrive in plain or trade-labelled packaging, with no change to performance or specification. Packaging can occasionally pick up minor damage in transit — please do not order if that would be unsatisfactory.
