Wet-look sealers are chosen for a colour-enhancing appearance on approved paving. The result depends on the exact product, paving material and previous treatment, so compare compatibility before gloss.
Understand the finish
Wet Look, Matt and gloss descriptions are not interchangeable product specifications. Check the stated finish and test the actual paving. A wet-look sealer may not produce the same sheen on every surface.
Match the material
Use block-paving sealers for confirmed block-paving applications, natural-stone and sandstone sealers for stone and imprinted-concrete sealers for imprinted concrete. A shared wet-look description does not establish compatibility across these materials.
Prepare without assumptions
Identify previous coatings, contamination and moisture before selecting a cleaner or sealer. Follow both products’ substrate and compatibility instructions. Do not apply a new finish over an unidentified old coating without approval.
Apply the selected system
Confirm coverage, coats, application method, weather conditions and recoat window. Separate touch-dry, pedestrian, vehicle and full-cure stages. Do not add extra coats solely to chase more shine or apply an unapproved sealer over paint.
Grip and maintenance
An attractive finish does not establish a tested slip rating. Follow product-specific anti-slip guidance where needed and keep the surface maintained. Inspect wear and follow the approved recoat instructions rather than a universal one-to-three-year interval. Compare finishes in the paving finish guide.
