Floormaster Polyurethane Floor Paint for Concrete is a solvent-borne, single-pack coating engineered for demanding industrial and garage floor surfaces. The long-oil polyurethane resin cures to a durable, high-gloss floor finish that resists tyre scuff, chemical spills, and repeated wash-downs, making it an ideal upgrade for garages, workshops, factories, and storage bays.

An anti-slip variant is available: stir in the supplied silica sachet to create a fine, textured satin finish that enhances grip on ramps and wet zones.
For optimal adhesion on bare concrete or polished screeds, apply one Floormaster Polyurethane Floor Primer & Sealer coat first. Once cured, two thin coats of Floormaster PU Floor Paint deliver a 50 µm dry-film build that lasts for years.

Suitable Substrates

Sound concrete, cement screed, block paving, timber floors, mild steel, and other porous mineral surfaces. Not recommended over existing solvent-based coatings without full removal or compatibility testing.

Disclaimer: There is a small possibility that your order may be delivered in white tins with the product label applied; this is rare but can occur in times of increased demand due to the manufacturer running out of printed tins due to a large spike in sales. You can confirm this with the manufacturer.

Safety Disclaimer: This oil-based paint contains solvents and should be used in a well-ventilated area. Avoid inhalation of vapours and prolonged skin contact. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Always wear appropriate protective equipment, including gloves and a mask if required. Dispose of any waste by local regulations. Keep out of reach of children. For full safety information, refer to the product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

  • Surface Prep – Degrease, vacuum dust, remove loose paint. Etch- or grind power-floated slabs. Ensure moisture < 4 %.
  • Priming – Apply one coat Floormaster Polyurethane Primer & Sealer to bare or polished concrete; allow 12 h to dry.
  • Mixing – Stir paint for 2 min. For anti-slip, slowly add the silica pack while stirring until fully dispersed.
  • First Coat – Roll or brush a thin, even layer (~ 100 µm wet film). Avoid puddling.
  • Second Coat – After 6 – 8 h, apply a cross-direction coat to reach ≈ 50 µm dry film. Do not exceed two coats in 24 h.

Curing – Keep area dust-free 12 h; no vehicles or heavy loads for 72 h; full chemical resistance in 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does polyurethane floor paint take to dry before driving on it?
Wait 72 hours at 18 °C; cooler conditions extend cure time.
Does the gloss polyurethane finish turn yellow over time?
All alkyd-based PU enamels amber slightly; darker shades hide it, whites may warm.
Can I spray anti-slip polyurethane garage floor paint?
No – the grit clogs tips; roll or brush textured coats.
How much polyurethane floor paint do I need for a double garage?
Approximately 8 L for two coats at 6 m² / L coverage.
Is polyurethane garage floor paint resistant to hot-tyre pickup?
Once fully cured the PU resists tyre lift to > 60 °C.
Can I thin polyurethane paint for concrete floors for spraying?
Yes – add up to 10 % white spirit to the smooth version only.
Is this industrial floor paint resistant to brake fluid and other chemicals?
It withstands brief spills; wipe promptly to avoid softening.
What’s the best temperature for applying polyurethane floor coating?
Apply between 10 °C and 25 °C; humidity below 80 %.
Can polyurethane paint be applied to ceramic tile flooring?
No – non-porous tiles must be mechanically abraded and primed with epoxy.
Is a top-coat needed after applying polyurethane floor paint?
Not required; two colour coats give full protection. A PU clear can boost gloss if desired.
Can I add more silica to polyurethane paint for extra slip resistance?
Yes – up to double the supplied pack; stir frequently to keep the grit suspended.
How do I repair polyurethane floor paint if it chips or scratches?
Clean, sand edges, wipe with thinner and touch-in; blends after 48 h.
Is this polyurethane floor coating food-safe?
Not certified for direct food contact; safe for general storage areas once cured.
How often should polyurethane concrete floor paint be recoated?
Typically every 5–7 years in garages; sooner in heavy industrial settings.
What PPE is required when applying polyurethane garage floor paint?
Solvent respirator, nitrile gloves, goggles and coveralls; ensure good ventilation.
