Sealer selection starts with identifying the surface and old treatment. A clear finish, wet-look description or similar paving colour does not establish that one product is suitable for every driveway or patio.
Natural stone and sandstone
Identify the actual stone and any existing treatment. Browse driveway and patio sealers for relevant choices and obtain confirmation for the exact stone, exposure and retained finish. Do not transfer block-paving instructions or presume a sandstone product’s formulation where its documents need confirmation.
Block paving
Use a product approved for the paving and existing finish. Check joint condition, contamination and drainage before sealing. A sealer does not repair loose blocks or guarantee weed prevention. Confirm finish expectations with a suitable trial area.
Imprinted concrete
Identify the retained coating and whether it is sound. Confirm compatibility before applying another sealer; adding product over a cloudy or peeling coating can repeat the problem. Investigate the cause and use an approved remedy rather than a universal stripping procedure.
Concrete floors and paths

A practical selection record
Record material, old finish, condition, moisture, traffic, desired appearance and measured area. Obtain the current label and technical sheet and confirm any unclear compatibility. Use approved cleaning and condition-based maintenance; no universal recoating interval or non-slip guarantee applies.
