Extreme Clean Stone Cleaner & Render Wash is a high-performance exterior cleaner formulated with 14–15% sodium hypochlorite around 50% stronger than most heavy-duty patio or masonry cleaners.

This bleach-based render and stone cleaner targets stubborn organic contamination fast, lifting black-spot lichen, algae, moss, mildew, and atmospheric staining in 5–15 minutes. It penetrates porous substrates to bleach out years of discolouration on K-render, monocouche and mineral renders, natural stone, brick, and concrete often in a single application.

For severe growth or long-standing black spots, use neat or at 1:1 with water. For routine cleaning and maintenance washes, dilute 1:4 to 1:6. Even when diluted, the formulation outperforms standard render cleaners, making it a go-to choice for building façades, driveways, patios, memorials, coping stones, roof tiles, steps, and ornaments.

Manufactured in the UK in an ISO 9001-accredited facility and supplied in tamper-sealed, UN-approved 5 L, 10 L, and 20 L containers, Extreme Clean is trusted by contractors, facilities teams, ams, and homeowners who need fast, visible results with minimal agitation.

Suitable Surfaces

  • Renders: K-render, monocouche, mineral, and cementitious renders

  • Stone: Sandstone, limestone, slate, granite, marble (test first)

  • Masonry: Brick, blockwork, coping stones, concrete (including imprinted)

  • Hard landscaping: Paving slabs, clay pavers, steps, patios, driveways

  • Other: Roof tiles, guttering, grave markers, and headstones

Always carry out a small test patch first; solution strength, dwell time, and porosity can influence the final shade on light-coloured or delicate stones.

It is not recommended for polished metals, anodised aluminium, unsealed timber, fabrics, painted/coloured coatings that may bleach, or near ponds/water features where chlorine could harm aquatic life.

Dilution & Coverage

  • Heavy staining / black-spot lichen: Neat or 1:1 dilution, ≈ 5 m²/L coverage

  • Routine moss & algae removal: 1:4 dilution, ≈ 10 m²/L coverage

  • Maintenance wash: 1:6 dilution, ≈ 12 m²/L coverage

Coverage varies with surface porosity, texture, and contamination level.

Sizes & Packaging

  • Pack sizes: 5 L • 10 L • 20 L

  • Containers: UN-approved, tamper-sealed drums with batch traceability

Storage & Handling

  • Store upright in a cool, shaded, ventilated place, 5–25 °C (do not freeze; avoid heat/sunlight).

  • Keep the cap closed; do not decant into unlabelled containers.

  • Do not mix with acids, ammonia, or other cleaners as dangerous chlorine gas may be released.

  • Pre-wet adjacent lawns/borders and rinse runoff with fresh water.

Safety Notice

This product is a chlorine-based oxidising agent. Wear gloves, goggles, long sleeves, and (in poorly ventilated areas) a suitable respirator. Avoid inhalation and skin/eye contact. Keep children and pets away until surfaces are thoroughly rinsed and dry. Never allow concentrate to enter ponds or watercourses. Dispose of residues in line with local regulations. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.

Regulatory note (UK):

Products ≥ 6% available chlorine are regulated under Explosives Precursors & Poisons—users may be asked to confirm intended use and provide ID.

Extreme Clean Stone Cleaner & Render Wash is suitable for various domestic, commercial, and heritage cleaning projects, especially where algae, moss, or lichen have heavily discoloured stone, render, or brick. Typical applications include:

  • Exterior Walls & Renders: K-render, monocouche, mineral, and cementitious renders on homes and commercial buildings.
  • Natural Stonework: Sandstone, limestone, slate, granite, coping stones, memorials, and grave markers.
  • Masonry & Brick: Façades, boundary walls, blockwork, and clay pavers.
  • Hard landscaping includes patios, paving slabs, imprinted driveways, steps, walkways, and courtyards.
  • Roofing & Ornaments: Roof tiles, architectural details, garden statues, and stone ornaments.

Avoid direct use on lawns, flowerbeds, or ponds: runoff may damage plant or aquatic life.

Application Instructions

1. Safety First

  • Always wear PPE: gloves, goggles, long sleeves, and a respirator for enclosed areas.
  • Pre-wet nearby grass, plants, and soil; cover sensitive areas to protect from splash.
  • Keep pets and children away until surfaces are fully rinsed and dry.

2. Dilution Guidelines

  • Heavy staining / black lichen: Neat or 1:1 with water.
  • Routine moss & algae removal: 1:4 with water.
  • Maintenance washes: 1:6 with water.

Even diluted, this cleaner is stronger than standard render and stone washes.

3. Application Method

  • Shake or stir the product before use.
  • Apply evenly using a watering can, bleach-safe sprayer, or stiff brush.
  • For vertical surfaces (walls, façades), start application from the bottom and work upward to avoid streaking.

4. Dwell Time

  • Leave on the surface for 5–15 minutes, depending on contamination.
  • Keep the area damp, do not allow it to dry out during dwell time. Mist lightly with water if needed.

5. Agitation

  • Scrub stubborn areas with a nylon brush or stiff broom to lift ingrained deposits.
  • A repeat application may be required once the first treatment has dried for deep-set black spots.

6. Rinsing

  • Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer (fan jet setting) until clear runoff.
  • Neutralise any runoff onto lawns or plants immediately with fresh water.

7. Coverage

  • Heavy clean: ≈ 5 m²/L
  • Routine wash: ≈ 10 m²/L
  • Maintenance wash: ≈ 12 m²/L

Coverage varies depending on surface porosity and level of contamination.

8. Pro Tips

  • Apply on cool, overcast days to slow evaporation and maximise contact time.
  • Always complete a small test patch before large-scale cleaning to confirm suitability and final appearance.
  • For heritage or delicate substrates, consult a conservation professional before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Extreme Clean Stone Cleaner & Render Wash used for?
It is a high-strength outdoor cleaner designed to remove black-spot lichen, moss, algae, mildew, and staining from stone, render, brick, concrete, and other hard landscaping surfaces quickly and effectively.
How powerful is this cleaner compared to regular patio cleaners?
The formula contains 14–15% sodium hypochlorite, making it around 50% stronger than most heavy-duty patio or masonry cleaners, delivering visible results in as little as 5–15 minutes.
Which surfaces can I safely apply it to?
It is suitable for K-render, monocouche, mineral renders, sandstone, limestone, brick, concrete, coping stones, paving slabs, roof tiles, and memorials. Always test a small hidden patch first to check for colour changes.
Can I use it on painted or sealed surfaces?
No, avoid using on painted, coloured, sealed, or polished surfaces, as the strong bleach content may cause fading, staining, or surface damage.
What dilution should I use for heavy black-spot lichen?
For tough black spots or severe staining, use neat or dilute 1:1 with water. For general moss or algae removal, use a 1:4 mix, and for maintenance cleaning, dilute 1:6.
How long should the cleaner be left on before rinsing?
Allow it to dwell for 5–15 minutes, depending on contamination levels. Keep the area damp during this time and do not let the product dry out to achieve the best results.
Is it safe for plants and grass?
It can harm plants, grass, and aquatic life if not managed carefully. Always pre-wet nearby vegetation, cover delicate areas, and rinse thoroughly with fresh water after treatment.
Can it be used near ponds or water features?
No, avoid use near ponds, streams, or aquariums, as the chlorine-based formula can be harmful to fish and aquatic plants. Prevent any runoff from entering water sources.
What protective equipment should I wear?
Wear gloves, safety goggles, long sleeves, and suitable footwear. In poorly ventilated areas, use a respirator to avoid inhaling fumes, and keep children and pets away until surfaces are dry.
How much area will one litre cover?
Coverage depends on dilution and surface porosity. Expect around 5 m² per litre for heavy cleaning, 10 m² per litre for routine cleaning, and up to 12 m² per litre for light maintenance washes.
Is this product safe for heritage or delicate stonework?
Yes, but use caution. Always conduct a small test patch first and consult a conservation expert when cleaning heritage buildings, memorials, or sensitive substrates.
Does this cleaner meet UK regulations?
Yes, it complies with UK safety standards. As it contains more than 6% available chlorine, sellers may request ID and confirmation of intended use to meet regulatory requirements.
How often should I use this cleaner for maintenance?
For best results, treat affected areas once or twice a year. Regular maintenance prevents moss and algae from returning and keeps surfaces bright and clean for longer.
Can I apply the product with a pressure washer?
It should not be fed directly through a pressure washer, but you can rinse treated surfaces using a washer on a low-pressure fan jet setting after the dwell time to speed up clean-up.
