Extreme Paints Machinery Enamel Paint is a single‑pack, solvent‑based oxide gloss designed for farm equipment, construction plant, skips, silos and metal fabrications that demand lasting protection with showroom shine. The modified alkyd resin flexes with vibration while anti‑corrosive pigments inhibit rust, extending service life even in harsh outdoor environments.

Suitable for steel, galvanised iron (etched), cast machinery parts, timber crates and prepared concrete bases, the enamel self‑levels to a uniform gloss that shrugs off oil, grease and jet‑wash cleaning. Manufactured in the UK under ISO 9001 QA, it is supplied in 5 L, 10 L and 20 L tins for workshop or site application.

Suitable Substrates

Metal, corrugated iron, galvanised (etched), wood, concrete, well‑bonded coatings and most porous masonry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a hardener needed for Machinery Enamel Paint?
No—this is a ready-to-use single-pack machinery enamel. Stir and apply.
Will the gloss finish survive pressure washing?
Yes—after a full 7-day cure, this high-gloss enamel paint resists up to 1,500 psi washes.
Can I spray directly from the tin?
Often yes. Thin with ≤ 10 % white spirit only if needed.
How much paint is needed for a small digger boom?
Approximately 3 L for two full coats at 6 m² /L.
Is it food-safe for machinery used in food processing?
No—it is not certified for direct food-contact zones.
Can I paint over old powder-coated surfaces?
Yes—sand to a matte finish, degrease, and apply. Test adhesion first.
Will bright yellow or red colours fade?
High-quality pigments provide lasting colour even in full sun. Keep clean to reduce chalking.
Which primer should I use on galvanised metal?
Use a compatible etch primer or mordant wash before applying this enamel.
How soon can machinery be used after painting?
Light handling after 24 h, heavy-duty use after 7 days.
Does this gloss enamel chalk or lose its shine outdoors?
Like all alkyd enamels, gloss may dull over the years, but pigment integrity remains strong.
What’s the ideal application temperature?
Apply between 10 °C and 25 °C. Avoid cold and damp conditions.
Do I need to sand between coats?
Not if recoating within 24 h. Otherwise, lightly sand with 320-grit for adhesion.
Is this compatible with 2K polyurethane topcoats?
Yes—after full cure and light abrasion, this enamel can be top-coated.
Can I remove oil stains after painting machinery?
Yes—wipe with a degreaser. This machinery gloss paint resists oil penetration.
What’s the proper way to dispose of leftover paint?
Allow residual paint to harden or dispose of at a hazardous-waste facility—never pour down drains.
